The inhibitory role of EZH2 on Th2 differentiation was further confirmed by the finding that the transfer of oval-albumin (OVA)-specific EZH2-deficient Th2 cells in C57BL/6 mice was associated with the development of exaggerated allergic asthma characterized by increased eosinophilic inflammation and increased proportion of effector memory CD4+ T cells, which produced increased amounts of IL-4 and IL-5 compared to the transfer of WT Th2 cells (27). This evidence concerns the gene EZH2 and allergic asthma.
