Studies by Raffo et al. (1995) showed that overexpression of Bcl-2 protects prostate cancer cells from apoptosis (Raffo et al., 1995) whereas, studies by Fulda et al. (2002) demonstrated that increased expression of Bcl-2 proteins lead to inhibition of TRAIL-induced apoptosis in neuroblastoma, glioblastoma, and breast carcinoma cells. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and Familial prostate cancer.
