HNF1B and renal fibrosis: From our results and previous reports, we concluded that HNF-1β suppression in dedifferentiated tubules is a crucial event for the dedifferentiation of TECs and that the upregulation of HNF-1β in the dedifferentiated TECs can restore the dedifferentiated TECs into their normal state, which leads to the attenuation of the TECs-fibroblasts interaction, and then quiescence of the activated fibroblasts, thus eventually alleviating renal fibrosis.
