ROC curves (Fig 4) showed that the diagnostic accuracy of ALC was very good (AUC = 0.82) and that of other acyl-carnitines, such as C12, C18:1 and C18:2, was good (AUC between 0.7 and 0.8), suggesting that these metabolites could be proposed as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of AD.
