NPPB and Pleural effusion: In addition, patients with dengue shock had: (1) an elevated rate of NT-proBNP ≥500 pg/mL (P = 0.018), (2) elevated troponin T levels (P = 0.010), (3) a higher number of cases with new onset or increased pleural effusion, assessed by chest radiography (P = 0.001), (4) an increased likelihood of developing acute kidney injury (AKI), defined as an increase in serum creatinine by ≥0.3 mg/dL within 48 hours or an increase in serum creatinine to ≥1.5 times baseline (P = 0.002), (5) a longer hospitalization duration (P = 0.041), and (6) higher in-hospital mortality (P = 0.010).
