The analysis, followed by examination of the set of miRNAs known to be associated with ovarian cancer progression [22–24], revealed 17 miRNAs (let-7b, miR-10b, miR-105, miR-127, miR-133a, miR-145, miR-147, miR-154, miR-199a, miR-199b, miR-214, miR-299, miR-302c, miR-331, miR-337, miR-376, miR-424) to target either Twist and/or Sox9 mRNAs and also present at lower levels in the metastatic progression of ovarian cancer. The gene discussed is TWIST1; the disease is ovarian cancer.
