VEGFA and macular retinal edema: Intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF, such as bevacizumab (AvastinTM, Genentech Inc., South San Francisco, CA, USA) and aflibercept (EyleaTM, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Tarrytown, NY, USA, and Bayer Pharma AG, Berlin, Germany), can effectively lower intraocular level of VEGF and reduce vascular permeability related to macular edema in BRVO [4–14].
