In Bi-L E7/K14–tTA/FancD2+/+ mice, MCM7 expression was upregulated in cancers and epithelium as evidenced by expression of MCM7 throughout the epithelial cells within these tissues, but when E7 expression was repressed by doxycycline, MCM7 was limited in its expression in the poorly differentiated cells within the epithelium (no cancers were present in this population of mice, which is reflective of their continued dependence on E7—see Table 1). The gene discussed is FANCD2; the disease is cancer.
