Among men with incident diabetes, compared with men who remained diabetes-free, the proportion with positive PSA tests was 8% lower (ratio 0.92) in the year they were diagnosed (2002) and decreased to about 20% lower (ratio ∼0.80) at about 6–8 years after diagnosis, thus reaching the same ratio as for men with prevalent diabetes (Table 4).
