In a murine model of pneumococcal meningitis, B7-H3 could augment pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine production, upregulate NF-κB p65 and MAPK p38 phosphorylation, and enhance the nuclear transactivation of NF-κB p65 through TLR2-dependent mechanism [26].
