In summary, our clinical study has characterized PFN2 as a molecular marker for ESCC progression and metastasis, and more importantly, our study has identified an independent prognostic factor for ESCC patients, indicating that PFN2 could serve as an early detector of ESCC high-risk population and a novel prognostic marker for ESCC. The gene discussed is PFN2; the disease is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
