ALDH2 and gout: Except for rs2555004, the other 8 SNPs showed significant associations at P < 5.6 × 10−3 (=0.05/9) with the Bonferroni correction, and rs671 (Glu504Lys) of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) had the most significant association with gout (P = 1.7 × 10−18; odds ratio [OR] = 0.53; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.46–0.61, Table 1 and Supplementary Figure S2A).
