PRL and polycystic ovary syndrome: BMI, WHR, the percentage of body fat (FAT%), systolic blood pressure (SBP), total cholesterol(TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FIns), HbA1c%, the area under the curve for glucose (AUCglucose), the area under the curve for insulin (AUCinsulin), HOMA-IR, prolactin (PRL), luteinizing hormone (LH), total testosterone (TEST), and free androgen index (FAI) were higher, whereas M-value and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) were lower in the PCOS women than in the controls (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01; Table 1).
