As suggested by Wang et al, VEGFR2 polymorphisms may act as genetic markers for identifying CHD risk in a Chinese population,40 indicating that 2 SNPs of VEGFR2 could significantly affect the binding efficiency of VEGF to VEGFR2. Nonetheless, another research revealed no significant association between VEGFR2 and CHD in a Japanese population with Kawasaki disease.50 In this study, we selected 3 SNPs of VEGFR2 to investigate the relation between VEGFR2 and CHD in a Chinese population, suggesting that VEGFR2 polymorphisms (rs2305948, rs1870377, and rs7667298) were associated with CHD risk. This evidence concerns the gene KDR and coronary artery disorder.
