We also evaluated the expression of NKp44 and NKp46, two other activating NK receptors, and showed no significant difference between CD and controls in terms of cells expressing either NKp44 or NKp46, while NKp44/NKp46-double positive NK cells and NKT cells were virtually absent in ACD. The gene discussed is NCR2; the disease is granular corneal dystrophy type II.
