One of potential targets thought to be critically involved in the pathogenesis of AD, a neurotrophin cell surface receptor (NTR), p75NTR [7], has been shown to bind with amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides [8] that, in turn, promotes Aβ-associated neuronal dystrophy [9], and regulates both Aβ levels [10, 11], neuronal death [12], and cholinergic transmission [13].
