Therefore, although anxiety symptoms are highly reported in patients with MDD (Fava et al., 2006; Fried et al., 2015), and anxiety disorders and MDD are highly co-morbid (Kessler et al., 2005), our data suggest clinical trials of COX-2 inhibitors in anxiety and trauma- and stressor-related disorders may also be warranted, and that SSCIs could represent a potentially attractive class of novel therapeutics for mood and anxiety disorders.
