HIF1A and gastric cancer: HIF-1α, as the active subunit of HIF-1,12 regulates transcription of quite a wide spectrum of target genes in gastric cancer.13 It regulates hypoxia adaptation and has an important role in aerobic glycolysis and tumorigenesis.14, 15 The metabolic effects such as biomass accumulation and allocation of glucose into ATP require normoxic stabilization of HIF-1α.
