Previous studies examining cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced cystitis revealed mixed effects on behaviour: male mice showed reduced rearing activity but increased time active in the open field four hours after acute injection (Olivar & Laird, 1999), however a recent study found no difference distance travelled in the open field following CYP treatment in female rats (Coelhoet al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene PPIG and chronic cystitis.
