In our study, the results showed the overexpression of c-myc mRNA and protein is associated with a down-regulation of miR-223 in HBx or 1.3 fold HBV-transfected HepG2 cells and in HepG2.2.15 cells, and up-regulation suppressed the cell growth in the HBx-transfected HCC, which may suggest that miR-233 is tumor-suppressive in HBV-related HCC. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and neoplasm.
