Luminal A type breast cancer is the most common and least aggressive type with the lowest mortality rate.33 In addition, luminal A mortality rates were reported to be constant over time with mortality rates of luminal B HER2-positive and nonluminal subtypes tending to peak within 5 years after diagnosis which then declined over time,34 findings also reflected in our data of significantly better DFS rates of luminal A versus luminal B type patients (P = 0.035). The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
