Twelve of the 30 head and neck SCCs (40%), 3 of 10 ESCCs (30%), 7 of 16 hepatocellular carcinomas (43.8%), 2 of 5 pancreatic adenocarcinomas (40%) (Figure 1E), 5 of 18 lung SCCs (27.8%), 2 of 10 cutaneous malignant melanomas (20%), 1 of 3 cutaneous SCCs (33.3%), 6 of 21 cervical SCCs (28.6%), 3 of 11 endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinomas (27.3%), and 5 of 13 renal cell carcinoma (38.5%) (Figure 1F) exhibited excessive MIA2 immunoreactivity. This evidence concerns the gene MIA2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
