Two patients with CHIKV infection, confirmed by RT-PCR, presented with diabetic ketoacidosis; one patient with CHIKV infection, confirmed by RT-PCR, presented with pancreatitis; one patient with CHIKV infection, confirmed by RT-PCR, presented with colitis, and one patient with CHIKV infection, confirmed by RT-PCR of serum, experienced monomicrobial nonneutrocytic ascites (recovered peritoneal fluid collected 20 days after symptom onset was CHIKV IgM and RT-PCR negative). This evidence concerns the gene CD40LG and pancreatitis.
