A recent study reported that RES administration could inhibit cold exposure-induced cardiac hypertrophy in mice; the hearts of these mice showed the upregulation of hypertrophy-related miR-328, and RES treatment (100 mg/kg/day) for eight weeks inhibited the increase of miR-328, and had a suppressive action of apoptosis of myocardium via inhibition of Bax and caspase-3 activation [91]. This evidence concerns the gene BAX and cardiac hypertrophy.
