EWSR1 and neoplasm: This tumor is characterized by the unique chromosomal translocation t(11;22)(q24;q12) (which fuses the EWS gene on chromosome 22 with the FLI-1 gene on chromosome 11) leading to a fusion protein which is composed of EWS (Ewing Sarcoma protein) (or rarely, liposarcoma/fused in sarcoma protein) (FUS/TLS) and a member of the Ets transcription factor family [1].
