Our detection rate of TMPRSS2:ERG via exoRNA in Bx Pos patients, was at the top of the range for that previously reported for TMPRSS2:ERG detection via urinary cell analysis in prostate cancer positive patients which ranged from 37–69% (22/32 (69%) [28], 10/15 (67%) [26], 8/19 (42%) [21], 56/138 (41%) [22], 29/78 (37%) [25], 9/13 (69%) [29]) with detection rates as low as 10/42 (24%) when no prostate massage was performed prior to urine collection [29] and 46/196 (24%) when a TMPRSS2:ERG detection cut-off of >10 copies was applied [30].
