IL2 and infection: Additional hematologic toxicity during IL-2 therapy included acquired functional abnormalities of neutrophils, leading to chemotactic defects and increased risk of infection,23,24 and abnormalities of platelet function.25 An unusual coagulopathy was also observed, rarely leading to complications and possibly related to changes in hepatic synthesis.26,27 However, all of these changes reversed on completion of and recovery from IL-2 treatment.
