Patients with adverse outcome had more adverse baseline characteristics, such as older age (median 74 years; Q1–Q3, 61–80 years), higher prevalence of CKD (55.2%) and stroke (29.2%), and higher level of NT-proBNP, TNT, and CRP in plasma, while in controls, NYHA classes III to IV (80.9%) and a history of CAD (52.1%) were more prevalent.
