CIP2A overexpression can induce an increase in AKT phosphorylation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma [22] and in liver cancer cells on both Thr308 and Ser473 of AKT; moreover, CIP2A inhibition induced the dephosphorylation of Ser473 in liver cancer and triple-negative breast cancer and lung cancer cells [23, 31, 32]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and liver cancer.
