An increase in serum CRF levels in the animals exposed to CORT therapy that were tested in our research seems to be a common factor of the aetiopathogenesis of both depression and OAB [2], as it was shown that the brain areas (i.e. Barrington’s nucleus in the brainstem amygdala, the prefrontal cortex, the hippocampus) that respond to stress factors contain a high density of CRF1 receptors and take part in the regulation of the micturition reflex. Here, CRH is linked to depressive disorder.
