In mesenchymal and proneural NS, usually lacking EGFR amplification, we investigated whether a prominent role could be played by the wild‐type MET oncogene, which was previously associated with the GBM mesenchymal profile (Phillips et al, 2006a; Verhaak et al, 2010; De Bacco et al, 2012), and is usually expressed in a mutually exclusive fashion with EGFR (Verhaak et al, 2010; De Bacco et al, 2012). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and glioblastoma.
