There was a significant association between decreased E-cadherin expression and pathological adverse features such as advanced pathological tumor stage (P < 0.001), high pathological tumor grade (P < 0.001), lymph node metastases (P = 0.006), LVI (P < 0.001), concomitant carcinoma in situ (P < 0.001), multifocality (P = 0.004), tumor necrosis (P = 0.020) and sessile architecture (P < 0.001) (Table 1).
