Amyloid was found in cross-striated muscles, for example formed from such proteins as immunoglobulin (Ig) light chain, Ig heavy chains, transthyretin, serum amyloid A, apolipoprotein AIV, fibrinogen α chain and atrial natriuretic factor, which contribute to the development of ‘amyloid cardiomyopathy’ or ‘cardiac amyloidosis’ [5]. The gene discussed is NPPA; the disease is cardiac amyloidosis.
