Cyclin D1 knockdown in wild-type p53 cancer cell lines (MESO257, MESO296, MESO428, MCF-7, MCS170, LPS695, MESO924, and LMS05) and in mutant p53 JMN1B cells resulted in ~45–55% and ~20% inhibition of cell viability at 3 days after cyclin D1 silencing, respectively, compared to the empty vector control (Figure 3B). The gene discussed is CCND1; the disease is cancer.
