Additionally, ECP (Fig. 5b), a marker of eosinophil activation, was increased in NP (NP median 56 pg/ml, range 0–1000 pg/ml; controls: median 20 pg/ml, range 0–467 pg/ml; CRSsNP median 45 pg/ml, range 0–1000 pg/ml; p < 0.001) while the quantity of eotaxin in nasal discharge showed no statistically significant differences among groups (Table 1). Here, RNASE3 is linked to chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps.
