We then confirmed these findings in a well-recognized (R6/2) HD mouse model, recently shown to develop Tau hyperphosphorylation at multiple Tau phosphoepitopes (AT8, CP13, PT205 and PHF-1) following the onset of HD-like features.21 We found an upregulation of both pGSK-3β-Tyr216 and GFAP protein levels in the hippocampus of premanifest R6/2 mice that increased with disease progression. Here, PHF1 is linked to Huntington disease.
