In animal models of HD, Gratuze et al.,21 have also recently reported that there is extensive phosphorylation of Tau in the hippocampus, cortex and striatum of R6/2 and 140 CAG knock-in mice, subsequent to the onset of HD pathology,21 and the present study corroborates this by showing increased AT8 protein levels in the R6/2 hippocampus. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Huntington disease.
