MAP2 and Huntington disease: These AT8+ neuronal inclusions were accompanied by a progressive decrease in the number of cresyl violet-positive (CV+) and microtubule-associated protein-positive (MAP2+) neurons in the GCL of HD as compared with CT hippocampal sections (Figures 1g and h), suggesting that pathological Tau expression could contribute to the loss of neurons at this site in HD patients.
