In particular, previous studies had elucidated that hypoalbuminemia is significantly associated with poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer.24,25 The reason is that elevated CRP levels and hypoalbuminemia have been shown to correlate with upregulation of the inherent immune system, including complement and macrophage function.25 Thus, mGPS can reflect both the inflammatory response, nutritional status in patients with mGC, and predicts the survival outcomes.10 The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is gastric cancer.
