siRNA-mediated knockdown of several of those genes (FOXM1, FOXQ1, HMGB3, MKI67, RUNX1, SOX4, and ZWILCH) led to a significant reduction in HCT116 cell viability, similar to those observed when miR-320c was over-expressed in HCT116 cells, strongly indicating these genes are potential targets for miR-320 family in CRC (Figure 3c). This evidence concerns the gene FOXQ1 and colorectal carcinoma.
