Importantly, the fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) fraction of CD44+/hi, EpCAM+/hi, and particularly FGFR2+/hi formed more tumor spheres in vitro (Figure S1D, S1E) and established larger tumor masses in mice compared to each fraction of CD44−/low, EpCAM−/low or FGFR2−/low) (Figure S1F, S1G), indicating that GCSCs are enriched in the FGFR2+, CD44+, and EpCAM+ fractions.
