Since sorafenib-induced cell death is partially dependent on sorafenib-induced ROS production in HepG2 cells [26], and AIB1 can inhibit intracellular ROS levels in human cholangiocarcinoma cells [16], we hypothesized that sorafenib-mediated downregulation of AIB1 contributes to sorafenib-induced intracellular ROS production and corresponding cell death in HCC cells.
