CXCL10 is induced by type I and II IFNs [8, 9] as well as TNF [20], and has been evaluated as a surrogate biomarker to reflect the IFN signature upregulated in autoimmune rheumatic diseases including RA and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) [21, 22]. The gene discussed is CXCL10; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
