Comparing CVD risk factors by diabetes status for each gender, girls with T1D had higher A1c (p < 0.0001), BMI Z-score (p = 0.005), total cholesterol (p = 0.002), LDL-c (p = 0.001), SBP (p = 0.0006), DBP (p < 0.0001), and hs-CRP (p = 0.002) compared to non-DM girls. Here, CRP is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
