Semiquantitative analysis revealed moderate to strong expression of HSP27 and 70 in all investigated types of thymomas and TCs, in contrast to low or absent expression in well-differentiated TNETs (HSP27: p < 0.001; HSP70 nuclear: p = 0.003, cytoplasmic: p = 0.061; HSP27 was detected in the cytoplasmic but not the nuclear compartment of tumor cells, whereas HSP70 showed nuclear and cytoplasmic expression.
