At 4 and 9 weeks post-challenge, increased levels of triple-positive CD4+ T cells (co-expressing IFN-γ, TNF-α and IL-2), but not CD8+ T cells, were observed in the spleens and lungs of the Rv3628-immunized group compared with the infection control group (Figure 9B and Supplementary Figure S5).
