Further detailed analysis of the FoxP3+ cells revealed that 4.4 ± 0.4 cells/μl blood in healthy subjects also co-expressing CTLA4 while only 2.7 ± 0.3 cells/μl (p = 0.006; 38 % reduction) were CTLT4+ in T2D patients (Fig. 8c). This evidence concerns the gene CTLA4 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
