The only other inherited conditions that match the combined susceptibility to mucosal and systemic fungal infections seen in CARD9 deficiency are gain-of-function STAT1 mutations and autosomal-dominant STAT3 mutations; however, these mutations also result in bacterial, mycobacterial and/or viral infections (reviewed in detail here Lionakis et al., 2014). The gene discussed is CARD9; the disease is fungal infectious disease.
