Research in the last 20 years, has suggested that abnormal brain RELN expression is a feature that associates with major neuropsychiatric disorders including schizophrenia (SZ), bipolar (BP) disorder (Impagnatiello et al., 1998; Fatemi et al., 2000; Guidotti et al., 2000), autism (Fatemi, 2002), depression (Lussier et al., 2009, 2011, 2013), and Alzheimer’s disease (Herz and Chen, 2006). Here, RELN is linked to schizophrenia.
