NFIB is likely to have a tumour suppressive role independent of MYB(L) in this cancer as truncation mutations specific to NFIB have also been found as have translocations involving other partners (e.g. NFIB-MAN1A1, NFIB-PTPRD, NFIB-NKAIN2, NFIB-XRCC4 and NFIB-AIG1). This evidence concerns the gene NKAIN2 and neoplasm.
