Increased HMGA1 gene and protein expression was identified in NSCLC; HMGA1 protein over-expression was associated with disease stage, tumor grade, T category, nodal status and distant metastasis; patients with tumors over-expressing HMGA1 had lower survival [43] indicating that HMGA1 may have prognostic value in NSCLC. Here, HMGA1 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
