Observation of multiple satellite small tumors as well as positive staining of Ki67 and CD44 in the lung tissues of the control mice, but not in the lung tissues of the treated mice, indicated that tumor cells were likely to metastasize to the lungs in the control mice and also that sgp130 treatment prevented the metastases of the tumors (Fig. 5c).
